Tiny Desk Ratings

Every Tiny Desk concert I've listened to, ranked by how badly it would derail an office.

A band, a desk, a bookshelf full of junk, and a room full of NPR employees who are supposed to be working. These are the Tiny Desk concerts I’ve listened to, and how I rate them.

The Office Disruption Index

Tiny Desk concerts are played in a working office, so every set gets rated by how badly it would derail one.

  1. Retire the Desk — Nothing should ever be played at that desk again. Reserved for the all-timers.
  2. Work Stopped — The whole office gave up pretending to work. Phones came out.
  3. Coffee Went Cold — Forgot my coffee was sitting there. Listened start to finish.
  4. Polite Head Nods — Pleasant. The people by the bookshelf swayed a little.
  5. Back to Emails — Somebody in the back quietly returned to their inbox.

20 concerts on the shelf. Taller spines did more damage.

Saw them in concert and was equally confused and disappointed by the singer's disinterest.

Who I'd book for the desk if anyone at NPR took my calls.
